Cheap but exciting honeymoon locations on the East Coast?

Posted by admin on 26th, 2010

My ideal honeymoon would be to Monaco, with the Monte-Carlo casino, the beach, the mountains, and exciting museums/gardens. But that is WAAY out of my budget.
Soo, I’m looking for, hopefully, an equally exciting location on the east coast of the US. I live in Virginia and I’m not interested in a honeymoon in this state. Plane travel is fine, and I’d want a really upscale hotel and spa.

What is the best hotel in Maui and Honolulu to honeymoon?

Posted by admin on 26th, 2010

Is it better to stay in a condo rental on the beach, or a chain hotel? Thanks!
PS Our budget per night is $200-$300. Also, do we need a car in either or both places?

It really depends on what you want your honeymoon memories to be. There’s a lot to see and do in Hawaii, but you may just want to relax and spend time strolling amidst the palms or walking on the beaches watching the sunset. But, if you actually want to go surfing or snorkeling or see the waterfalls, whales, volcanoes and other sights then you want to choose your accommodations accordingly. Here’s a great site that has a lot of suggestions for romantic activities – http://www.hawaii.com/visit/maui/romance/honeymoons/index.php – they also have some honeymoon-specific hotel recommendations and travel specials.

Once you’ve decided what you’re going to do, then think about how you want to travel. If you stay in a condo, it’s intimate and cozy. You have more space and room to spend inside. You can save money by making your own breakfast in the morning if you’re staying in a condo.

If you’re in a hotel room, you’ll have a smaller space and it won’t be quite as intimate. But the nice thing is you won’t have to worry about cleaning up after yourself or making the bed in the morning.

Both hotels and condos can be very fun in Hawaii. In Honolulu, I’d recommend the Sheraton Princess or the Ilikai hotel (http://www.ilikaihotel.com/rooms/index.html).

A great value is the Castle Waikiki condo rentals that are located on the shore of the beach. They have a lot of deals, and you should be able to upgrade to one of the best rooms and still stay within your price range. (see their site here: http://www.castleresorts.com/Home/accommodations/waikiki-shore)

A really lovely retreat is the J.W. Marriott Ihilani resort, it’s just outside of Honolulu – very secluded and their luau is amazing. They are a bit pricey, but they do have specials that include meals and spa treatments, so consider that even though it may be a bit outside of your budget range. (see the deals here: http://www.q9web.com/specials/HNLJW/#43)

If you do decide to choose a chain hotel, sign up for their rewards program. They’re usually free and you’re sure to get a ton of points for your trip.

Whether or not you need a car really depends on how long you’re staying and what you plan to do. Check out the different sights and romantic activities that you might like to participate in, see where they’re located and use that information to determine if you need a rental car or not.

In Honolulu, there’s a lot of public transit and you can probably do just fine without renting a car, but in Maui you might want to consider it.

Also, don’t forget that Honolulu is in Oahu, which is a different island than Maui. You’ll definitely need to arrange travel between the two islands.

Good luck and have fun on your honeymoon in Hawaii!

Ideas locations for an inexpensive honeymoon in September.?

Posted by admin on 26th, 2010

It’s going to be in September and my wife-to-be hates cruises.

How about an all inclusive resort? Or go to Vegas, it really is inexpensive because they offer daily free shows, lots of sights, great food, and great nightlife. It really doesn’t have to be about the gambling at all. That’s where my husband and I went on our honeymoon. We told everyone there we were on our honeymoon and we got a lot of free things too!

Best places to honeymoon in September?

Posted by admin on 26th, 2010

I am looking for places to Honeymoon in September to avoid hurricanes. I have started to do research but just when I think I have found a great place, I read a terribly horrifying review about bugs, dirt, peddlers and rude staff. I am terrified to even book something. I would hate for our honeymoon to end up in a disaster.

Can anyone give me any ideas for places they have been and can personally recommend? We would like to do an all-inclusive if possible.

Thanks!

I would recommend an island circuit in French Polynesia that would include at least, Tahiti, Moorea and Bora Bora!

You can find pretty good deals these days…

goa Honeymoon 1

Posted by admin on 26th, 2010

All the footages that you see in this video is shot in goa. Goa was our first destination where we headed for our honeymoon followed by Wayanad and Alapuzha (backwaters of Kerala). we always had liked goa as it was the most vibrant of places and the culture out there is so inviting for tourist that you will never feel jeopardised even for a minute. we were given hotel accomodation as gift from a close friend of ours named Vijeeth in AbuDhabi in Mahindras resort in a place called Varca. i have to tell you mahindras goa is one of the best resorts with a good area for recereation and excellent room services. they do have their own private beach and its very close to Madgaon railway station. When in Goa its advisable to hire a bike for your transport from places to places and its available almost outside all hotels or coffee shops. Pork vindaloo and Fenny is the delight when in goa, do expect to loose some complexion of yours as the amount of time you will be spending near beaches is beyond imaginable. its a heaven for adventure lovers as you have a list of water games to suit your budget and taste. so get set for some adrenaline rush if you are coming to Goa and most important if u want to see the most happening Goa come between december 20 to jan 2 and ensure you have a booking in a hotel or you will definately end up in disappointment. enjoy the video. the audio track what you hear is from Moby.

How long is too long in Vegas for a honeymoon??

Posted by admin on 16th, 2010

I want to go to Vegas for my honeymoon and want to spend 10 days relaxing in a spa environment and going out to shows and parties a bit. I want to be able to relax and take it easy and be pampered a bit!! Is ten days too long to spend in Vegas for this? Should I go someplace more outside of the strip and then commute to the city just to go out? Anyone know any good Spa hotels in Vegas?

I have been going to LV since 1967 and have not missed a year in the past 20 or so…I go out two or three times a year, usually for two weeks, sometimes only ten or eleven nights :( …I don’t see how anyone could ever run out of things to do in LV…You couldn’t take in all the free entertainment/shows in ten days…

You could stay on the strip, just off the strip at one of the "locals" hotel/casinos, the Boulder Highway or in Henderson, none would be a bad choice…

Of course it’s all going to depend on your budget. Caesars Palace is my favorite, I think you could find everything you’re looking for there..The rooms/service/pool/spa are incredible…The Palace Tower rooms with a view of the pool area are my choice…

Luxor might be a good choice for you, I like the Pyramid over the tower even though the tower rooms are larger and newer…How often do you get the chance to sleep in an actual pyramid?…The Pyramid Spa Suites have a jacuzzi tub built up into the corner of the room, incredible view…Luxor is having a special on their rooms until the end of January-Promo Code-(PDNY1) .

I have not stayed at Mandalay Bay but it would be a nice choice for you and they also are having a special on their rooms…Buy two nights get the third free…Until the end of January…

If you’re planning a June wedding? Summer is a great time to go, room rates are lower in the summer…I would start checking around now, it does not hurt to hold something, as long as you book through the hotel you can always cancel if you find a better deal…

travel sites for rooms in LV

http://www.travelworm.com

http://www.i4vegas.com

http://www.vegas.com

check around, if you find a great price, see if the hotel will price match..

This is the best site for info on LV
http://www.lasvegasadvisor.com under "VEGAS INFO" you can check out all the hotel/casinos – show – activities – Clubs/Bars – etc along with info/review/links on each…If you’ll go to the "LVA Forums" you can talk with one of the foremost experts..Just ask your question in "Vegas free for all" and title it "Spa question for Ken". His name is Ken Van Vechten and he’s known as Ken_2V on LVA…He’s an author "Neon Nuptials" and knows more about the LV spa scene than anyone I know…
