Honeymoons – Your Las Vegas Honeymoon

Posted by admin on 21st, 2011

Vegas attracts couples getting married like a hot streak on the dice attracts gamblers. You’ll find every kind of activity and accommodation you can think of here. Gambling and shows are what Vegas is famous for, but there is shopping, golf and much more. You can lounge around the pool and be spoiled at the spa. Or, you can just walk around and laugh at all the people while you hold hands.

One of the great things about a Las Vegas honeymoon is that it can be anything you want. There are, of course, the wedding chapels with a Justice of the Peace dressed as Elvis, along with heart-shaped hot tubs in the hotel room. But there is also the elegant atmosphere at the Bellagio with its world-class rooms and shops.

Try a little Europe, USA style. Go to the Paris and take advantage of the Eiffel Tower wedding package to tie the knot atop a 50-story replica of the famed structure. Or, if you want an experience that is even more old-fashioned than you can imagine, dress up in Medieval garb and stay at the Excalibur.

For those on a budget the Tropicana offers packages that are remarkably inexpensive. This hotel is one of the classics in Las Vegas and offers that late-’50s style ambiance that made the town famous. You’ll be snapping your fingers like Frank Sinatra and still have plenty of cash left over to roll the dice with your new spouse.

Maybe you’d like something with a tropical feel. Despite the name, the Tropicana doesn’t quite provide that. But the Mandalay Bay Resort certainly does. There’s an excellent spa, a stylish restaurant and dozens of shops, along with a casino, of course.

You might be interested in wearing a toga, or something like it. Spend your Las Vegas Honeymoon in the large rooms at Caesar’s Palace, then go to the spa for a great massage. Lounge around the room afterward in one of the oval baths big enough for two. Then stretch out underneath the ceiling mirror to enjoy one of the luxurious four-poster beds. You’ll feel like having a Roman orgy for two.

You can even stay far from the hustle and bustle of Las Vegas and only drive in for the gambling and shows, if you want. The Ritz-Carlton at Lake Las Vegas has one of the best spas around. It also features an outstanding golf course.

It’s 17 miles from the Strip, so you’ll experience a very different atmosphere. But you can still be in the thick of the excitement in less than half an hour. Like every Ritz-Carlton, it’s a bit pricey, but it’s your honeymoon so splurge.

Wherever you stay there is no end of things to do in Las Vegas on your honeymoon. If you still have any energy left after the golf, the shopping, the shows and walking the Strip, you can always take a drive. The romantic route that winds through the desert canyons can end with a spectacular sunset and a honeymoon kiss.

Honeymoons – Your Caribbean Honeymoon

Posted by admin on 7th, 2011

The Caribbean remains among the most popular honeymoon destinations. It serves the purpose well. It offers glorious sunsets, warm beaches and a host of things to do, including doing nothing at all!

But the Caribbean is a big place. That’s an advantage for honeymooners because it means you can find an isolated spot for an intimate honeymoon. Or, you can join the excitement and dance on a floor filled with lots of other partiers.

Antigua

The blue waters of Antigua attract honeymooners from around the world. You’ll rub shoulders with a German couple while you chat with two Japanese about their part of the world. Stay at the hotel named for the sea – Blue Waters – and you can enjoy a classic Caribbean honeymoon vacation.

Head out to the southern tip of the Leeward Islands and take in the lush tropical gardens on the peninsula. The Curtain Bluff Resort is ready to welcome you, under the same management since 1962. Feel the ocean breezes and listen to the birds chirp as you enjoy a quiet rendez-vous on the sandy beach.

Aruba

Fly to Aruba, an island that often tops the lists of best honeymoon destinations. You can get an all inclusive package or mix and match to suit your taste. Scuba dive in the morning then have an outstanding lunch at a Caribbean 4-star restaurant.

You can enjoy your own private condominium or villa in this tropical paradise at the Tierra del Sol Resort. Or, you can stay at the Renaissance Aruba Resort and lounge around the pool. If you want a little excitement get dressed up and visit the casino. Then head back to your room in the adults-only complex for some honeymoon excitement.

Jamaica

Jamaica continues to be the choice of honeymoon couples from all over the world. It’s been 45 years since James Bond first walked the sandy beaches here, but the romance and excitement have never dwindled.

Stay at Montego Bay and find out what Bond found so fascinating. Just off the doorstep of the Half Moon hotel are white sandy beaches that invite romance while they provide plenty of room to tan. Play some of the best golf courses in the world while you adjust your shot against the ocean breeze. Go kayaking or take a cruise around the island.

Bahamas

The Bahamas is great, especially for those in the eastern half of the U.S. Close to home (just over 50 miles from Florida), but filled with all the glamor of any Caribbean island.

Enjoy a stay at the Sandals all-adult, couples-only resort. They offer two beaches on a private island. Go to the spa and be treated to the same amenities as the rich and famous. Enjoy the Greek-style decor of the pool that is part of their all inclusive honeymoon package.

If you’re thinking of a Caribbean honeymoon, you’re thinking along the right track. Barbados, St. Thomas, St. Lucia, the Virgin Islands and many more spots are waiting to make your honeymoon the trip of a lifetime.

Honeymoons – Romantic Honeymoon Destinations

Posted by admin on 21st, 2011

There are literally thousands of places around the world that offer outstanding romantic honeymoon destinations. But there’s a reason that many will zero in on Europe during their search. It offers dozens of superb places to go with enough variety to please anyone.

France is one of the top destinations, and it’s no surprise.

Paris is, of course, considered one of the most romantic cities on the globe. That reputation is well earned. The view from the Eiffel Tower is breathtaking. A walk along the beautiful Seine after sunset is the stuff of which movies are made.

But France offers much more than just Paris, for those who prefer something less urban or metropolitan. The south of France, including Nice and St. Tropez, has long been known as the vacationer’s paradise. Newlyweds who travel here, perhaps as part of a cruise, will find that the rumors are all true.

Even the smaller villages, many of them located near world-class wineries, can be the perfect retreat from the world on that special honeymoon trip. St. Paul de Vence in Provence has sidewalk cafes, art galleries, boutiques and more. It is the very picture of a quaint European town.

Italy, too, is well known as the choice of many newlyweds looking for a place to honeymoon. Wherever they go here, they can never go wrong.

For those interested in adding to their wedded bliss with a little vino, the wineries in Tuscany are first rate. Bicycle tours in Umbria or Chianti are enjoyed by many – but not too many… you won’t be overcrowded here! You can even rent a Ferrari and dine in a Medieval castle.

Some couples prefer the hustle and bustle of a major city as they celebrate their new status with a honeymoon in Rome or Venice. Both cities are world famous for museums, ancient sites and the finest restaurants anywhere. Gliding down a canal never gets old. Seeing the Coliseum will create one more lifelong memory on a honeymoon filled with so many.

Think of Germany and romance may not be the first thing that comes to mind. But it should be. The land of Goethe and Schiller was the very epitome of passion in the 19th century, and it remains so today. This is proven over and over again as you investigate romantic honeymoon destinations here.

There’s the Romantische Strasse, the 200-mile drive along Romantic Road, that encompasses farmlands, and the foothills of the Bavarian Alps. Take in Neuschwanstein, one of Germany’s many romantic castles on your honeymoon. Sip some of the world’s best wine along the way.

Stay in a Bed and Breakfast near the Black Forest. Or, visit exciting Berlin and catch a show while you hold hands. Listen to Bach in Frankfurt or dance the night away in Hamburg, then go back to the hotel along one of the canals.

Your European honeymoon destination might be the romantic low hills of Ireland. Or, it could turn out to be the unforgettable vistas of the mountains near Geneva, Switzerland. You might take in sunny Sicily or frigid Finland. But whichever type of honeymoon atmosphere you prefer, you’ll find a neverending array of choices for an unforgettable trip.

Honeymoons – Honeymoon Registry

Posted by admin on 7th, 2011

The idea of a wedding registry is well established. Prospective couples planning a wedding register with stores and then let their friends know where they’ve registered. Those interested in buying gifts can see a list of items that the couple needs and wants. That way, the buyer knows they’re getting something the couple will value. Everybody wins.

The idea has long ago been extended to include honeymoons. Hotel accommodations, side excursions and much more can be included on a honeymoon registry. In the same way as a wedding registry, the couple simply lets their guests know about it. No obligation to buy.

However, unlike typical wedding registries, some honeymoon registries do cost up front. The arrangements differ widely, though. In some cases a flat fee is charged. In others, a percentage to anyone purchasing a listed gift for the honeymoon couple.

According to the companies, this covers their cost of making arrangements with hotel chains, airlines, resorts and tour or entertainment operators for good prices. The Big Day (http://www.thebigday.com/) is one of the larger, more well-established honeymoon registries. Traveler’s Joy (http://www.travelersjoy.com) is another.

Gifts run the gamut of everything imaginable. Unlike a wedding gift registry, though, the focus is on things and activities a couple will typically pay for on a honeymoon.

It may be something as common (albeit stunning) as a 4-night stay in a spectacular hotel in St. Petersburg, Russia. Or, it could be an all-day boat ride along the River Neva for the happy couple staying there. Honeymoon registry gifts can pay for one meal or all of them at the hotel. Some even pay for cocktails before dinner.

Some honeymooners love to enjoy all the activities they dreamed of while on their vacation. Hot air balloon rides are a popular choice. It’s something couples often talk about, but at $100-$200 per person often put off. It makes for a great gift. In many cases, the money isn’t fully paid for up front, though. A deposit might be registered, with the full amount only required if the couple actually uses the gift.

But that introduces a bit of fine print to watch out for. Registry policies, and those covering individual gifts, can vary widely. On some, the gift dollars never expire. If the couple doesn’t take advantage of the generous offer in, say, two years, the activity is still there if they should want to do so later.

Many others expire. When they expire, the money may be returned (minus a service fee) or the company may keep it entirely. There’s nothing fraudulent about the practice. It’s simply up to those registering to read the contract as they would any other and to make a decision accordingly.

Honeymoon registries have their pros and cons. Sometimes prices can actually be lower for those who book through the hotel’s online website, for example. But a honeymoon registry can also be a convenient and effective way for friends and loved ones to give the couple a Jeep safari in Africa or a private bungalow in Aruba.

Honeymoons – Honeymoon Planning Suggestions

Posted by admin on 24th, 2011

Planning the wedding was a huge undertaking. You spent months working out the place, the guest list, the clothes…. It was endless. Do you really want to go through that again to plan your honeymoon? Not necessary! A few simple tasks, an email here and there, and you can be set for the trip of a lifetime.

Topic number one in honeymoon planning, of course, is where to go. Sure, you could argue about it until your 50th wedding anniversary. But this can actually be one of the most fun parts of the whole experience. You had enough in common to get married. You can agree on a honeymoon destination.

Rather than try to pick the exact location at first, start by considering the type of honeymoon atmosphere you want. Do tropical beaches appeal to you? Maybe laying on the beach is about as exciting to you as filling out your tax form. Everyone is unique. The green hills of Ireland will sound romantic to one couple. Another may prefer sunny Rome. Still others may find Aruba the perfect honeymoon atmosphere. Choosing isolated versus metropolitan versus tropical will help guide your specific destination choice.

Once you know the type and place, it’s straightforward to develop a budget. You might have received an all inclusive honeymoon vacation as a wedding gift. Signing up at a Honeymoon Registry will improve your odds, too! But even on your own, there’s a place to suit every budget.

Inexpensive packages are available for honeymoon couples in Las Vegas. Or, suppose you live in London. You can set off on a trip around Paris, then stay in a château in the wine country for a very modest cost. The train trip in and out is easy and gives you something extra to do. For those with more to spend, of course, the options become wider. But even the Hotel Ritz in Madrid offers terrific deals for newlyweds.

Part of the process, which will affect choice of location and budgeting, is deciding on a time of year. Your wedding can take place in June, but you may want to have the honeymoon in February. You get to relax from all the craziness leading up to the wedding and can take advantage of off-season rates. Cruises and hotels often lower their prices during these periods.

Take into account that when it’s summer in the Northern Hemisphere it’s winter in the Southern, and vice versa. If you get married January 1 in Chicago, it’s still January 1 in Sydney. But while you’re fighting ice, the Australians are baking.

The key to any successful honeymoon vacation is to explore all your options early. Sure, your mind is filled with all the things you need to do to have the wedding come off perfectly. So treat yourself and look into the honeymoon of your choice. Location, budget and more will all be easier if you take it one step at a time well in advance.

Honeymoons – Honeymoon Packages

Posted by admin on 17th, 2011

What are honeymoon packages and why should you get one?

Picture this:

You have to book a hotel. You want to take a cruise. You have to get there by plane. Taxi… forget it! It doesn’t end with travel. You want to go on a tour of the Taj Mahal or get some great scuba instruction. Now you’ve got even more arrangements to make.

And you thought all that complicated planning would end with the wedding. It can. Get a honeymoon package. Honeymoon packages come in all shapes and sizes. Many can be custom ‘fitted’ to a specific couple.

One common form is a combination of flight plus cruise. The flight gets you from an airport near you to the ship’s point of embarkation. Then you board and enjoy your honeymoon cruise to an exotic locale. The return flight brings you home.

But some will include flights in the middle. You board the ship and sail off, say, to the Greek Isles. Then, after a few days stay, you fly to Monte Carlo or Paris for some gambling or nightlife. You may pick up the cruise at another point, say Lisbon, or fly back to Greece to complete your honeymoon. Then it’s back by ship to Florida and home on a final flight.

Hotels are another typical part of honeymoon packages. No need to worry about where to stay once you arrive from your flight or cruise. Pay once and be assured of your accommodations for the entire honeymoon.

That also saves you money.

Packages invariably offer the best rates. Paying separately for flight and hotel will carry a higher cost than getting a combination deal. The business reason is straightforward. Special arrangements between the airline and the hotel make them money by feeding each company customers. The honeymoon couple gets the benefit by a lower price than they could get on their own. Everybody wins.

The same principle can, and often does, extend beyond transportation and accommodations. It often reaches to activities that newlyweds seek when they reach their honeymoon destination.

You may take a flight to Aruba, one of the most popular honeymoon spots. But before long you’ll want to do more than lie on the beach. Scuba diving is often included as part of the package that includes hotel and transportation. Bicycle rental might even be included so you and your new spouse can ride off into the sunset together. Horseback riding is included in some packages, too.

Or, suppose you prefer romantic Italy. You arrive in Venice and book into a fine hotel that was included in your package. But now you want to take a canal ride, or go on a tour of one of the outstanding sights in the ancient city. Many hotels will include this as part of the amenities.

No matter where you want to go, how you want to get there, or what you want to do when you arrive you’ll find a honeymoon package that offers just what you seek.

Honeymoons – All Inclusive Honeymoons

Posted by admin on 25th, 2010

You’re on your honeymoon, enjoying the wine and a spectacular sunset. Who wants to think about how much to tip the waiter? Get an all inclusive honeymoon package and forget about the details. Focus on your new spouse. Build memories for a lifetime around him or her that don’t include how much dinner costs.

That’s the basic idea behind all inclusive honeymoons. Pay one price in advance and get all the amenities. No more being nickled and dimed to death. Of course, what that package includes will vary widely from one offer to the next.

Resorts that cater to honeymooners really go all out. They include a luxurious room with built in tub large enough for two. Golf is on the house and visits to the spa are thrown in for free. Well, not free exactly, of course. It’s part of the price built in to the deal.

There are a dozen top resorts in St. Lucia that offer just that.

Ladera, for example, offers complimentary room service. Each room has a jacuzzi big enough for two, so you can stay indoors all day if you want. But the beach is right outside and the view is included. With only 6 villas and 21 suites, you’ll find the privacy and seclusions you seek.

Get out in the sunshine and go horseback riding, included as part of the all inclusive package. Or, go enjoy some water sports, tour the jungle or just laze around at the pool. Then go visit the Ti Kai Pose spa and get truly pampered.

Belize is another spot that always ranks high on lists of best honeymoon destinations. Several hotels there offer all inclusive honeymoon packages that include an incredible variety: kayaking, Hobie Cats, rainforest waterfalls and much more.

Stay at Kanantik Reef and Jungle Resort and go scuba diving at no extra charge. Wander around the surrounding 300 acres and be fascinated by all the jungle wildlife. Take the 45-minute boat ride to the island’s huge barrier reef and see the hundreds of species that populate the area. Then get transported to the nearby Mayan ruins in one of their Mercedez-Benz air-conditioned vans.

Maybe Europe is more your style. No problem. There are dozens of all inclusive honeymoons that cover any country or several. You can visit Big Ben one day and the Eiffel Tower the next.

You can stay in an intimate 500-year old villa in Tuscany and never see more than a few villagers. Or, you can enjoy your honeymoon in the heart of Madrid at the Hotel Ritz, a baroque palace from Spain’s royal past. You could spend your entire honeymoon on a barge, lazily moving up the rivers and canals of Germany or France with only a dozen passengers on board.

Whatever type of honeymoon you want, there’s an all inclusive package that will allow you to concentrate on each other, not on the bill.

Thank you for all you answers and king words we are looking into Santorini it looks beautiful.

The U.S. Government remains deeply concerned about the heightened threat of terrorist attacks against U.S. citizens and interests abroad. Like other countries that are members of the Schengen Agreement for free cross-border movement, Greece’s open borders with its European neighbors allow the possibility of terrorist groups entering/exiting the country with anonymity. As the first entry point into Schengen from points south and east, Greece’s long coastline and many islands also heighten the possibility that foreign-based terrorists might try to exploit Greece’s borders.
Domestic terrorist organizations such as Revolutionary Struggle and “Sect of Revolutionaries” have become increasingly active against both domestic and foreign targets in Greece. Recent attacks and attempted attacks have included the use of Molotov cocktails (gasoline bombs), small arms and rifle fire, and improvised explosive devices, the largest being a 50-kilo car bomb which failed to detonate before the police arrived. The Greek police forces, other Greek governmental agencies, private American and Greek businesses, and the United States Embassy have been attacked in the last three years. Recent actions indicate that the perpetrators are indiscriminate. The risk of “being in the wrong place at the wrong time” in the event of a terrorist action is a concern for residents and visitors. U.S. tourists or residents in Greece should remain vigilant, exercise caution, and monitor local developments.
Some current terrorist organizations are aligned with the ideology of the older Marxist terrorist group November 17 (N17) which targeted Greek businessmen and officials, as well as officials from NATO countries in Greece, from the mid-1970s until the early part of this decade. N17 terrorists murdered 23 people, including five U.S. Government employees.

Strikes and demonstrations are a regular occurrence. Greece is a stable democracy and these activities for the most part are orderly and lawful. However, a wave of incidents started when a teenager was shot and killed in an encounter with the police in December 2008. Incidents occurred throughout Greece, but the primary sources of violence were in Athens and Thessaloniki, Protestors there engaged in violent confrontations with the police and carried out destructive vandalism and rioting in localized areas, some of which are areas frequented by tourists, injuring numerous police officers. Riot control procedures often include the use of tear gas. Visitors should keep abreast of news about demonstrations from local news sources and hotel security. When there are demonstrations, visitors should be aware of and avoid places where demonstrators frequently congregate, such as the Polytechnic University area, Exarchia, Omonia, and Syntagma Squares in Athens, and Aristotle Square in Thessaloniki. The Omonia and Exharchia areas of Athens are at particular risk for crime and politically-motivated violence; U.S. Embassy personnel and their families have been urged strongly to avoid these areas between 9 pm and dawn.
